I have a 1988 300se with 290k the other day on my way to work i blew the drive blet, Which in turn severed the trans cooling line, causing me to dump the trans fluid on the highway. I was able to get the car to my parkinglot at work "short distant" At work I replaced the blown hose and belt. refilled the fluid and was on my way. first few shifts were alittle fun but as i drove they evened out. That was untill friday, the tranny started holding second for a long time and would only shift on the decelerate. plus when it did shift it would go into 3rd for a second and jump to 4th. today it shifted the same but then it shifted into neutral i was able to manualy shift into n and back into d but on the wat home it down shifted and would not let me out of second no matter what, it eventualyshifted up. any remedies for this short of a new tranny? fluid and filter change . or is it something on a larger scale?
would a tranny out of any 126 work(except d modles of course)

Thanks in advance.!
