my 1989 560 SEC 3-4 upshifts are delayed until I drive 10-15 minutes or so. Also, when coasting the car holds the lower gear as if it’s been manually downshifting.
Hoping this is an adjustment but the fact that the condition clears when the car is really warmed up is of concern. A fresh trans service has not affected this condition
K1/k2 issue or ?

Me, I’d double check the fluid. I had a similar, much more extreme situation when I bought my car. After weeks of diagnosis and testing, ultimately it took 2 transmission fluid changes (and trans-x both times) 800 miles apart. Now I’m a couple thousand miles with no issues.

In my case, some think it was a dried out o-ring because it sat a few months. Me, I think there was some varnish causing trouble in the valve body because the PO went some 60,000 miles without a transmission fluid change. And, of course, having the right amount of fluid 😉

Another flush and trans x is up next thanks. She only has 123k KM and the last several years although the car was ‘run’ and maintained, she wasn’t driven.
