Dear All,

I have seen a very nice condition 280TE for sale, however, it has the following issue with the engine. The car is a 1979 280TE with only 89,000 miles (it was owned as a second car for someone living away).

description of issue:
"There is a problem with the engin that was present when I bought the car. Cylinders 1 and 4 do not fire at idle and only fire occasionally at high revs. Sparkeplug deposits show only very slight heat tarnish. as a result the car does drive however is slugish pulling of. A Compression check revealed all cylinders do have good compression ranging from 155 to 165lbs.(Recipt present) I have no longer got the time to pursue the solution myself.

- The car cruises on the motorway at 80mph (driven for 30miles).
- Oil pressure sits at 3bar idle and rises on acceleration.
- Temperature is stable at 185degree when hot."

Thanks for any feedback!

If I were trouble shooting it, I would "GUESS" a dirty injector. or perhaps a bad plug wire.
