While driving up a long hill at 60mph I kicked down a gear to overtake and after reaching 80mph there was a complete loss of power and the car start to slow and I noticed that the temp gauge had gone from just over 170 to 200 then after a minute or so the temp gauge went quickly back to normal I suddenly regained full power and had no further problems for further 4 hrs driving. Has anyone experienced this before is it serious or a blip caused by accelerating up a long hill?

Have you checked to make sure you are not losing water.<br> It could be that your head gasket has gone.<br> Are you constantly topping up with water if so get the car checked.
