I see no reason why this shouldn't fit.

Does anyone else have a different opinion than mine / actual reason to side with the seller that this will not fit my car? The compatibility states that it fits the 230TE from '77-'85. My car is an '81. My computer is telling me the difference is the series which is w123.283 (TE) vs w123.243 (CE), but what is the actual difference? It's the same engine.

It's marked to the correct 200 km/h for the 230E, so it should be a direct fit.

Moreover, both the 250 and the 230E had the exact same final drive ratio. Not only will it fit, it will work perfectly.
