What is the procedure to chnge fuel filters on at 1974 240D. How do you bleed the suytem of air after installing new filters? Thanks.

First,wear rubber gloves,Diesel will kill you .Undo the center bolt on the main filter housing,that will drop the bowl(or cartridge)replace the filter element and rubber "o" ring,bolt it back together.on the top of the filter housing is a 13 mm bolt,undo that 3/4 of a turn,on the fuel pump,there is a knob ,turn that anticlockwise to undo the plunger,then pump that up and down until clear fuel(zero bubbles) comes from the bolt you undid on the filter housing,tighten it back up..replace the plunger and you are ready to rock'n roll[8D]
