Right now, I have 18x8.5 with 225/40's all around. If I put it on a CLK430, will the 225s on the rear be enough to give full traction? My initial thought is no.
I might have to go 255/35 on the rears.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
proxy2.fm.intel.com

Since the rears come stock with a 40 on the 17, and 35 on 18. You can not put 40s on an 18" rim for

a CLK without screwing up your speedometer.
ca-brea5b-192.stmnca.adelphia.net

I'm not worried about the speedometer. I'm worried about having enough (or the lack of) contact

patch for the engine to transfer its power to the tires on the road.

user-38lc22q.dialup.mindspring.com

You can fit 245 in the back, which is standard. Most people go wider, not skinnier.

You'll fit, but your cornering may be flimsy. I'd imagine you're ESP will be going off constantly.
ca-brea5b-192.stmnca.adelphia.net
