Finally bought 225/60 R15's. Rolling circumfrance is exactly the same as 205/65 15. Initially, they looked a tad to wide for the rims, but now it's kind of growing on me. Will post pictures as soon as the weather improves.
I have this size Continental Extreme Contact, and they are pretty darn fun. Never can spin them on dry pavement, stop on a dime, but seem to roll a little on hard cornering. I was wondering if this is because they do seem a bit bulging and wide on these stock rims. What do you think?
Actually mine feel great. I used to have the air in at 26 front 27 rear just to get any comfort level in (215-65R15). Now with wider tires, and a smaller sidewall, I got them pumped to 32 front 34 rear and it feels super. I think my old tires were trash and I had 30,000 hard miles on it. Once, I get bored of the speed, I will probably take it back to 26F 27R.
Let's see the different Audio System installs in your W126.
I'm designing a system for mine and want a clean simple set up. A head unit with ipod connectivity, front & rear speakers in the OE locations, a sub woofer, and a 5 ch amp.
I've learned a lot from this forum and hopefully this thread...
Over the past couple of weeks I've sunk about 7k into my, up-until-recently derelict 300SD. I've been talking about it for years but it would appear I'm now actually restoring my W126.
I'm aware it's financially stupid and don't expect to ever be able to sell it for anything. I originally...
After 15x,xxx miles, the steering gearbox on my 420SEL has obvious play, an internal knocking sound, and a couple drips a night when parked. It’s time for a replacement.
From research on this site, it seems the most recommended rebuilt unit to go with is from C&M Hydraulics. AutohausAZ sells...
On the other car make forums I've belonged to over the years, there was often a thread to post parts sales etc, not by the poster but just things they've come across.
No affiliation etc, no guarantees, if you see something someone might be interested in post it.
If there's any forum rule...
First 3k+ km already added to the original mileage.
The only thing done to it after the purchase was the oil change.
Good all Benz pass with flying colours. That’s not to say the car is flawless. There is plenty little things that would probably annoy the driver of a modern car. The key here...
