Has anybody here put 22" rims on their X166 GL550?

If so, what width, offset and tire size did you use? The stock AMG rim on it that comes from the factory is 21x10 ET46 with 295/40-21 tires.

I have a set of 305/40-22 tires I want to mount for use on the GL550 and want to know what wheel set-up actually works on the vehicle.

Any information is appreciated.

So I decided on Avant Garde M580 rims. Ordered them in a brushed finish with polished windows from Vivid Racing (great guys to work with).

They are 22 x 10.5 with a 42 offset, fitted with the 305/40-22 tires I had.
Let me know what you guys (and gals) think.

Hey there Aboy.GT2. I like the wheels you put on your GL550. I am considering switching out my 21" wheels. my 21's always had a rough/loud ride. Also needing new tires every 20k miles. My Escalde's before and my wifes QX56 have 22's and they are actually smoother ride and have a +40k miles rating.

Did your ride quality improve?

What tires did you put on them?

Did you have to adjust speed settings?
