Hello,
I am a professional Porsche and BMW technical and an independent
shop owner. I recently was very fortunate to purchase a 2001 CLK 55.
Unfortunately, it has several (build) problems on delivery, including a
windshield cracked by the dealer at PDI and an express window problem.
The window seems out of time. Express up causes the window to fully
extend then retract about 4 inches. If it was a BMW this would be caused
by either the window motor (HALL sensor, control unit loosing count) or
an anti-jam feature (window height too high). My dealer, like some
others, is horrible. They break more than they can fix on any given
visit. I would prefer to repair these defects myself.
I would like to know where I can purchase factory or good after
market wiring diagrams and workshop manuals for this car. BMW sells SOME
of this information through Kent-Moore and others. This information is
not available in printed form, but only on CD-ROM. I assume this is the
same for MB. Could you please give me a source for these materials.
I appreciate you help and advice. Please email a response or
telephone (808) 836-1675. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Scott Schulte, Ph.D.
President
German Auto Specialists
Honolulu, Hawaii
