+ 1. We used to represent Bertolli in Iran, and I would visit with the Commendatore twice a year in Cremona (home of the worlds greatest luthiers Stradivari,Guarneri & others), about 80 km from Milan. It's a great track, and the park is quite impressive too.
Some fellow old farts may remember the Brambilla brothers, who both raced on 2 and 4 wheels, and whose Beta tool company (high quality tools) is located near the old team garages, as is an old time seller of racing memorabilia. It's worth a visit even when there is no race.
When visiting the cathedral and piazza del duomo, its advisable to hold something over your head. I had never seen as many pigeons dive bombing poop.
The E side of the square used to have a set of steps going down to a pretty cool night club in part of the old catacombs.
The no longer used banking of the oval (the annoying music can be turned down).

Hamilton drives in a league all his own.... oh no... here I go again with "keeping my fingers crossed" for LH to win this race
Ha, imagine Bottas secretly having a Lewis voodoo dolls and pins....
I am quite happy to see that my expectation did not come to pass......The red flag changed everything...Alfa with Honda power ????

The team screwed up. One Mercedes F1 guy is said to have noticed, unfortunately he was at team HQ in Brackley, UK.
The restart after that long red flag period was interesting to see, but it quickly turned into an interesting race with the young guns providing plenty of action.
Kimmy looked pretty racy, but whoever decided to put him on softs for the restart deserved to get spanked.
I recently wrote that Ferrari picked Sainz over Ricciardo, because he wouldn't challenge for #1 status. The feisty and smart quali and drive by Sainz today showed how wrong I was. Great to see Gasly win.
That was a nice change from the snooze fests.
It's almost painful to witness Ferrari's from hero to zero descent.
ESPN has no crew of their own at the races, but the SKY TV reporting they show is usually bare bones. All races ESPN shows cut off abruptly'
SKY TV F1 staple, Ted Kravitz notebook is never shown (no offense to Will Buxton, who is employed by Formula1.com TV, as is old hand Peter Windsor)

With Renault being renamed Alpine F1 for their sporting brand (a cousin near Hannover still has his blue A110, and a later Alpine model had the front seat arrangement with 1 center drivers, and 2 passenger seats on either side long before the McLaren F1.
I hope well get to see a bit of French racing blue, and hopefully British racing green next year, even if it's only on a wing or spoiler.

Btw, until the late 90's, famed engineer / race car designer John Barnard ran the Ferrari design and development facility in Shalford, in the U.K. motorsport valley.
Not far away was race engine builder Illmor, now the Mercedes F1 engine plant.
