Hello all,

This is my first post. Apologies if it's been discussed before but I tried searching the forum and could not find anything. I currently have Michelin Pilot Sport summer/performance tires on my AMG GT63 275/35/R21 on the front and 315/30/R21 on the back. Its getting cold in Chicago and I'm wondering if its really worth it to get winter tires and switch back to summer tires when it gets warm, or would getting all season tires be good enough? A set of 4 tires is going to cost $2000 regardless of which route I go. I don't drive too much and when I do its mainly in the city. Would rather have less work but wondering if its that big of a deal to keep the performance tires. Also considering the rim size is 21 inches. Attached pictures below. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. What a car.

I would think winter tyres in your situation would be ideal but not essential. Would hate to be getting stranded in a car like that though.

Impressive car to say the least! In Chicago, you need real honest to God snow tyres. Personally, I live in Northeast Pennsylvania and we don't get half the snow that you do. Pick a snow tyre rated for severe weather artic , which will have a snowflake emblem on the sidewall.. Put them on all 4 wheels. Bridgestone Blizzak WS 90 tyres were my choice. Pirelli Sotozero and Michelin Artic Ice are also excellent choices. Best, 3hawks
