I have just bought a 16 model that does not have boards. I think I want them so the wife can get in easier and not get dirt on her dress clothes.

What brand is the most OEM-like board? I want the best quality without spending stupid money on OEMs. Anyone recommend a vendor

I assume someone has plowed this ground before. I searched, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I would just buy them used off Ebay. There is the running boards and a plastic bracket under it and I think two small parts if I remember when looking at exploding diagrams on EPC. You will be disappointed the running boards they are too short and kind of awkward to use, not very ergonomic. I looked it up to try and remove mine on my wifes 2016 GLE as you have to really step around and over them as they are really so useless.

I added them to my wife’s 2018 and she loves them. She is quite petite and does use them (sort of) as a step in. No issue with dirty pants :) We added more for look than function, but she does use them.

I would imagine most average height or more just step over them. Your feet likely won’t fit on them!

I purchased mine from eBay with no issue and install was easy.

The only issue is getting rid of the old covers! I thought someone/anyone would want them for free, but alas, they sit in the corner of my garage and I can’t seem to throw away a perfectly good part.…

Dallas/GTO, thanks for the insight. Perhaps I will only do splash guards .

Are there any other opinions? Any tricks for avoiding dirty britches (other than daily washing)?
