I am looking at purchasing a 2016 GL 450 with 72,552 miles on it. Would like to know how the reliability is for this model.
Hello. If it's a dealer sale, then buy the extended warranty and you should be good to go. If it's a private sale, then make sure you get the full history of the vehicle. Have a MB mechanic or foreign specialty shop, look it over and have them give you a detailed report on the condition of the vehicle. You can also get the VIN and call your local MB dealership and have them provide you a VMI (internal vehicle history report form zero miles). Lastly, if none of the above work for you then you can just pay the 200$ service fee at your local MB dealership and have them look it over and give you a report. Either way, spending a little cash will go a long way in giving you a piece of mind. Any car will be reliable or unreliable based on it's past maintenance. It can be a diamond in the rough or a lemon in disguise. Overall the GL class is a solid vehicle and should get you from point A to point B. Steno Thanks for the help took your advice on contacting the local dealer and found out the vehicle has been meticulously serviced so I have definitely found a diamond in the rough. And got a great deal as well.Hello. If it's a dealer sale, then buy the extended warranty and you should be good to go. If it's a private sale, then make sure you get the full history of the vehicle.
