Hi all,

In the market for the ML350 Bluetec, saw a special order options list on this forum that includes passenger seat memory. My question is: Without that option, the passenger seat would be powered but would have no memory settings?

Correct. Plus...

For my 2013, it added power lumbar and power up/down headrest.

Well...

For a new 2014 ML - the passenger memory feature can only be added as option with leather interior - basically it's a identical to the door mounted control pad found on the driver's seat - it's a nice added option with leather - but no-can-add with MBTex.. sadly.

27T and fabbrisd1:

Thank you so much for the information. That's exactly what I was looking for. I was planning to get the passenger seat memory with MB-Tex, but may have to go with leather in this case.

Contextually...

Background - now that CanBus information on accessory useage gets recorded and "uploaded" into the "cloud" with diagnostic - MB brains saw few/almost-no-one was using passenger memory (as compared to the units out there in 2012 base year). Soo, they also found of those that used it, much higher proportion of leather-interior owner's - sooo, long story short the "#'s" on useage killed the deal for MBTex...

That's interesting. As a company MB has to always watch the bottom line, but these cost-cutting steps rarely benefit us consumers. My wife wants both the MB-Tex and passenger seat memory. I guess she'll have to choose just one of those.

Interesting what Fab said, our '06 has memory on both sides and we never use it on passenger side, so when we were going over options for new one it was of little consequence that memory was not available with Tex. Guess we are just very average consumers! We did want the power seat on that side so it works for us! Not sure if it saved us money though, the Xeon lights were same price and now do not include the washers like 2013.
