I like the 2014 Luxury grill. I think the look is more in line with the new W222 S-Class. The one very nice thing about MB vehicles is that new models do not instantly date the prior models as is the case with BMW, Audi, and Lexus.

Clearly, the sport package on the 2014 E-class is like mixing oil and water. I like the changes that were made to the interior (seat controls, new clock, trim around air vents) as well as the one-piece headlights.

I see the W212 getting more resemblance to the W124, which is a good thing.

That sport package is just wrong. Unfortunately, on the non-sport package, there's a black trim piece/valance below the grill. It sticks out like a sore thumb on any non-sport model with a light paint color.

And I'm also not a fan of the wheels that come with the non-sport.

I think the new e class is looking like a toyota/bmw.
I have a w211 e350 kleemann (260kw) and a w212 e63 amg (soon to be supercharged).
At first i hated the w212 shape, but i gave in when i recently bought the e63.

The new e class does look ugly as right now to me but maybe in a few years it will grow on me and the rest of you too.

new member here, just ordered a face-lifted w212 (or is it the w213?) with the luxury code to maintain the classic look at the front end. i feel the sportier look is too aggressive for a luxury cruiser. anyway, i cropped some images of the E over the generations. the face-lift looks almost like another chassis code...

agree that it would be nice to have a pick of wagons with either 4-cyl or 6-cyl diesel engines (as wel as the current offerings).

but... i really think they make way too much profit on the SUV models in the US to even bother with the wagons beyond their current niche market. i mean, the way those options drive the price up is crazy and it seems like SUV's can support more options.

So dumb that a mid cycle refresh makes my 2012 e-350 look dated after such a short time. I had expected the current w212 would look current (to the untrained eye) until MY2017 like my previous w211.

What was MB thinking?

Well...the 2013 will make a clicking and then a thumping noise and vibration/rattling in the foot area right around 8 MPH, and this happens EVERY time you restart the car. The 2014 don't make that mechanical noise, I'm guessing they fixed the noise.

The dealer says its operating as designed. I didn't know Mercedes engineers would design something this noisy and then get rid of the noise on a 2014.
