2014 Mercedes C-Class leaked again, could be launched with three engines
Several new pictures of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class have leaked to the web ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show.
Looking like the handsome offspring of the E- and S-Class, the 2014 C-Class has an evolutionary design which looks more upscale than its predecessor. Notable highlights include a prominent grille, LED-infused headlights and carefully sculpted bodywork. We can also see a CLA-inspired rear end with a dual exhaust system and S-Class style taillights.
According to Auto55.be, which obtained the pictures, the C-Class will ride a new platform that has a wheelbase that is 8cm longer than its predecessor. Despite being larger, the model will reportedly weigh 100 kg (220 lbs) less thanks to aluminum body panels.
At launch, the C-Class will reportedly be offered with three different engines including:
A turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 157 HP (115 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque
A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 186 HP (136 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque
A 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 170 HP (125 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque
The C-Class is expected to be unveiled on December 16th, so stay tuned for full details.
