Hi everyone,

I'm looking to purchase my third ML350. I had a 2005, currently a 2008 and now looking to get a 2012. I wanted to ask a couple of questions. First off are the new generation MLs still made in the USA? I import all my Mercedes from the US into Canada and this means no duty on MLs. My second question is reliability. My 2005 and 2008 have been essentially flawless with a few minor problems covered by warranty. Since 2012 is the first year of the new gen have there been any issues I should be concerned about? My '98 has over 100 000 kms and is out of warranty so time to upgrade.

Thank you

First, there are very few new 2012 ML's in US inventory - since the new generation ML was a solid gold hit.

Second, there are a number of Mercedes executive program 2012 ML's that were put into MB service for exec's and special events in Jan/Feb that are now available as pre-owned in dealer inventory. Those "demo" pre-owned for US market are priced including a added Mercedes US Certified 100K US warranty

If it's cheaper for you to buy in the US from a US MB dealer - understand US MB dealers are penalized selling US market ML's for export unless they are pre-owned with over 1 yr of service. Penalities are like USD$13K for ML's, and also gives you a black flag with MB.

2012 ML's from non-MB dealers, kind of very very limited #'s...

Keep the faith !
