The 2012 Mercedes SLK has been revealed online thanks to a leaked video that shows the new luxury convertible from every angle. Looking very much like the baby SL we expected it too, the 2012 SLK gets a more flat-fronted nose and many design cues from the new line of Mercedes products.
The SLK will come with Benz's AirScarf system, adaptive headlights, a seven-speed automatic transmission and a new Magi Spy Control roof that can let light flow through or can be blacked-out with just the touch of a button.
There's no official word yet on what engines the new SLK will get, but the new direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 is likely with 306-hp and 273 ft-lbs of torque. A more potent SLK model could receive the new twin-turbo 4.7-liter V8 with 435-hp and 516 ft-lbs of torque, making for some seriously fast top-down motoring.
With this promo video having leaked out now, we have to think Mercedes is planning to officially unveil the 2012 SLK at the Detroit Auto Show in early January.
