Working on a friends c250 that’s experiencing low power and not shifting correctly.

has codes P0087-77, P0002-77
p0087-77- the fuel pressure in the system is too low
p0002-77- the quality control valve has a malfunction
Owner says has new high pressure fuel pump. But can’t confirm that. Was also told it needed a low pressure fuel pump

on my scanner im getting a low psi of 87 and high side of 54-55 at idle.

not familiar with these cars, but very mechanically inclined.

I couldn’t find a proper section so move if needed.

You need to move to w204 section, I asked a mod to move for you.

You need a lpfp, the fuel pump in the gas tank. If that is bad, the hpfp wont have enough fuel to pressurize. Also the hpfp could be bad too. But start with the lpfp first.

i’m having the same exact problem but only got p0002 code my car goes into limp mode think i should start with the lpfp too i haven’t had the high pressure fuel pump replaced

how much should i realistically pay for this to be done. i’ve heard that if you replace this it will go out again in a month or so

they quoted me 1k but idk if that’s with some random ass part online from china or what
