I have a 2010 Bluetech, it had a clogged dpf, and an underboost code with no power not going over 45. Finally parts came in to do the recall. Had the oil cooler done at the same time. After recall work is done it’s running fine again but now it’s burning through oil. Oil light is coming on every 300 miles or so. I’m tired of throwing money at this thing. Dealership doesn’t seem to know what’s wrong, they want to do an oil consumption test for 600. I just want MBUSA to do a buy back and be done with this vehicle. Unless it can be fixed. I’m at a loss. Any suggestions welcome!

One or more of your oil control piston rings have failed. This is a common failure point on the om642 when the low viscosity gasoline engine oil is used as specified by the factory. The clogged DPF and under boost are both symptoms of the massive amounts of burnt oil smoke going into your DPF. The only solution is rebuild or replacement of the engine although pushing the car off a cliff is usually the smarter choice.
Good luck

Hello. One or more of your oil control piston rings is stuck. Common issue and the only way to alleviate is to properly do an ENGINE FLUSH, use Liqui Molly engine flush. Has very good results. Also, if you decide to do the oil consumption test, then the warranty should pick up the tab. They know what the problem is and they are just milking you for everything that they can.

One thing to keep in mind is that you need to PROPERLY do your engine flush. What I mean by that, when you start the process, you will have to drive about 100 to 300 miles in-between engine flushes and repeat the process. Do it about 3-5 times. Last but not least is to use ATF in your oil as a means for an engine flush, so your engine call for 9qt of oil -- use 9qts of ATF and let it idle for about 15/20 min.

The 'car off the cliff' engine flush challenge also applies. :)
