I started hearing a noise from the rear drivetrain, and it seems to get slowly worse. It's most pronounced when I take my foot of the gas at higher speeds.
The car has 107k miles and has been trouble-free with exception of Air Matic (all 4 air shocks either rebuilt or replaced).
The differential fluid has never been changed and I was going to do that first to see if it helps, but was reading about common differential outer bearing failures on older models.
Any suggestions on how to diagnose this?

You might consider investing in a Steelman wireless chassis ear. It will run you a couple hundred bucks, but last a lifetime.
