Just finished doing the first backup cam in a new SL. The new command has backup camera function built in but disabled.. (I still dont understand how you dont get a backup camera for $130K). Anyway we reverse engineered the command codes and turned on the backup cam. Also developed, built and installed video-in-motion + nav entry in motion, and put in a full K40 radar with laser jammers and instrument cluster display.

The radio is camera ready but no camera is installed. So it basically involves programming the radio and then mounting and wiring the camera up to the radio.

SL63 Back-up Camera Solution?

Hi -

I'm new to this forum and the proud owner of an 2012 SL63 AMG.... one of the last!

Anyway, the car is complete minus the backup camera that's on the newer 2013- SL models.

Can someone assist me with the system used on the 2009 SL63 mentioned here?

Is there a kit? What's required...including the camera and placement?
