Has anyone replaced the rear glass in their ML?
I am going to try on a friends 2008 ML 320 CDI. Are there any problem areas or tips that you can think of?

The EPC diagram indicated that there is the glass, the component adhesive, and possible the normal antena to be reinstalled.

I sure would appreciate any insite if you have replaced the rear glass yourself.


I'm trying to convience the owner just to have an Auto Glass company come install, but they insist on MB replacement glass (oh, for that little logo), and I said I could install it.

I can't help with the install, I'm afraid, but for the information of your friend: when I had the windshield of my X5 replaced, it was done by a third-party auto glass shop and the actual glass was the identical product to OEM but without the BMW logo. It clearly stated it was made by PPG, as was the original. The price was 60% of what the dealer asked.

I don't know if the same applies to Mercedes, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't.

Having said that, a caveat: there are a lot of Chinese-made auto glass panels out there of unknown quality.

If you take of the door liner from the inside, replace all 14 clips or it will rattle.

This isn't just my advice, it is Mercedes' advice!
