2007 S550
Hey everyone, just took my car to an indie and they said the valve body and conductor plate may need to be replaced because of a bad speed sensor. I got quoted around $2100 for the whole job with labor and parts.

Is this price decent and fair? I feel like it seems high and I went to an indie so I didn’t have to pay dealer pricing. Has anyone got this done before and could let me know the cost? Thanks!

I'm wondering if this is my issue. I have the same 2007 S550 with 90,000 on it runs fine until the check engine light comes on. They reset it and runs find again. Now I am told by my local Benz dealer the codes are cam shaft related. Advise I need all new ones along with a timing chain. Parts cost $4700 and double that for the labor...! It seems to run find even when the light comes on just idles a little rough. Crazy..!

The next time that you get a check engine light, take the car to one of the local auto parts stores and have your phone ready to instantly take photos of every code that comes up. Come back here and start a thread giving every exact code, plus every symptom in detail.

To the OP.

See my posting on the W221 forum related to my 6 month old valve body/conductor plate. Maybe you can use mine at a significant savings.

Let's talk!! I'm near Chicago, but willing to ship this thing if necessary.
