My 2006 E55 AMG has a hesitation/jerk/buck on initial acceleration. The hesitation is consistent, and occurs around 20 mph. It is not noticed if you are easy on the pedal. Could this be a misfire? I wish there were a fault code, however there are no codes present.

There are no codes present. I had the car at the dealer recently, and they could not find any problems. However, they also did not drive the car due to pandemic.

The problem is very noticeable.

Where should I start?

Does anyone have any advice as to where I should start? I ran a bottle of tehcron through the fuel system, and plan to clean the throttle body to see if this improves the situation. Any other ideas?

Causes of hesitation or stumble during acceleration are ,,,
Ignition system ,,ie ,,coils ,wires ,plugs.
Clogged fuel injectors.
Low fuel pressure,,bad pump or clogged filter..

Does it still happen if the trans is in C mode ?

Have you found the cause of the problem? I have exactly the same symptoms on my G55 (same engine). Car has new throttle body, plugs/wires, crank position sensor, compressor pressure sensor, gas pedal. Fuel pressure ok. But still no luck to find the problem. No fault codes either.

Just for record, the problem is almost solved. It seemed to have two problems. First the bigger one was evap valve was stuck open. Second there seems to be an intermittent issue with second smaller throttlebody. After reset the car works again ca two weeks and then the small stumble is back. After reset all ok again.
