I must be missing it then....cause I don't have the thing that comes out. I guess it is a part that I have to buy...my car was a dealer demo.

Why would you have to buy it. Just tell the dealer that yours is missing and ask him to replace it. As for the nav, yes the dealer can install it. Ask for a quote. Most dealer demo customers are treated as new car purchasers so do not hesitate to make things right.
