Hi there. Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
My Vito develops a whine in the rear at pretty much exactly 110kph. The noise continues until about 115kph when it disappears. The noise occurs when under load (maintain speed or accelerate) and doesn't occur when backing off the throttle.
It doesnt appear to be connected to revs but is pretty consistently connected to road speed.
I have just (a week ago) had a B-service and the tyres are about 5000km old - I am wondering if a wheel-rotate might have brought it on though, to be honest, I dont know if the problem existed before the service.
No other noises to make me fear bearings or whatnot but the issue is so discrete and reproducible and it occurs right on highway cruise speed so it is nagging at me.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. The van is going back to finish service works (front brakes, glowplugs and relay, door/hood hardware) so maybe they will find something there.
Cheers, Me
