Welcome to the forum, and I am very sorry for your loss.

I do not have an answer to your question; I could only speculate, which would do you little good. I just don't want you to think we're ignoring you.

There are some excellent MB techs on this forum, and I hope they can respond with a solution. If not, I can only suggest a trip to a dealer or a certified independent with experience in your model.

Welcome, and sorry for your loss.

It seems you have tried checking the common things that go, I'm thinking maybe there is something wrong with your valve block.

Very, very sorry for your loss. I can relate- we lost my grandmother from ovarian cancer/heart complications and she loved her S500 as well, and is the reason I am on this forum and take care of it.

If the compressor bench tested ok, and the relay has been replaced but the compressor still wont run then it could be a wiring harness/sensor issue. And I'm sorry to say I have no experience in that area. Most commonly would be the relay or compressor being blown.

The comand system failing is odd and could point to a dead comand, fuse, or again harness issue.

Its possible that since two main electrical components are failing that your SAM (signal acquisition module) or other component in the system has gone bad/gotten wet and as a result are causing malfunctions.

Best of luck, hopefully someone else can chime in.

Thank you for the feedback. The SAMs (Signal Acquisition Modules) being damaged by water is a well-known problem that has been discussed a good bit on the forum. The drain hole that plugs up is usually on the passenger side.

Unfortunately, when SAMs are damaged, there can be a very wide range of problems resulting, and thy are an expensive repair for folks who don't have your knowledge of how to fix them.

Be sure to check the fuse panel under the passenger side rear seat (pull the surround for the courtesy light in the footwell out - the panel is there) - and check for water. You may have to do the same thing to the SAM under the rear seat if it is wet. There is also a large fuse that supplies power to the front SAMs (in the engine compartment) located under the floor of the SAM front passenger seat.

See 2nd S Flooded This week! S Owners Keep your Drains Clean!!! - MBWorld.org Forums and http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220-s-class/1394676-please-help-car-flooded-all-rain.html for more posts on the problem; there are others.

If you leave the car out most of the time, it may be a good idea to drill the supplemental drain hole that some of the posts discuss.

I seem to be having a problem related to this thread.

My 2005 S500 has something going on with or around fuse 62 under the back seat. The first thing that happened was the remote locking stopped working. I changed the battery in the remote but that didn't do it. I then started basic trouble shooting and found the head rest release, central locking, trunk locking and the air adjustments on the seats also don't work. All of those functions with the exception of the air adjust run through the F 62 fuse so I changed it out. It was blown. The replacement blew. I changed it again and now the fuse doesn't blow but nothing functions. With the car off I get a tone from the door chime when I remove or replace the fuse so it is being recognized. I have tried different new fuses with the same result.

I washed the car yesterday but that isn't unusual. Can anyone tell me if the SAM under the fuse box on the passenger side of the engine compartment controls these functions? Any ideas on how the air pump for the seats might be related to the F62 fuse?

Coincidently, I think I live within 10 miles of the OP on this thread. Small trailer park.

First up it is never wise to just replace a blown fuse. Fuse 62 is the main fuse for the PSE control unit (combined) this is the control and pump together. I would suggest you check the PSE pump.
