Hi All

My car seems flat and unresponsive at times? It's never a misfire, just seems gutless at times? Typically turning into a road and putting my foot down and you'll feel it power forward the way it should, other times you put your foot down and almost nothing?

Economy isn't down or changed or anything different, just the throttle response seems to vary. My wife has been using the car for a couple of weeks and even she noticed it, saying from time to time she though the car was playing up? When I asked her in what way, she said it just didn't seem to be going properly at times?

I bought a cheap code reader but that doesn't seem to work in the car, or my wifes car for some reason, so I cant even scan for codes. Before I put it into my local indy for a scan, i thought I'd ask on here in case anyone has any ideas on what to check or what sensors to clean, or if this is typical of something?

Many thanks.

I know practically nothing about the (M271?) engine in your CLK 200K, but instinct tells me that the problem is something to do with your compressor not always cutting in as required.

There is something called the Air recirculation flap actuator (M16/7) which might need attention. Or the compressor itself could be on the way out. They spin at such a high speed that the bearings take a beating.

Please add your profile with model/year/location, as this often helps with answers. User CP ^^ takes you to the place.

Same type of problem.

I have a similar problem, although at times a little more severe. Randomly my car will be at a stop and when I press the accelerator, it barely moves, but the tach is racing. The other day I stopped in a parking lot and tried to back up and the car would not move either forward or back. When I put it in Park and turned off the engine, then turned it back on again, it was and still is fine. It has done this twice in the last year at random times.
Anyone have answers????

The question is moot now. Someone in a 2015 Chevy Colorado totaled my car yesterday. :(
