I have a 2005 CLK 500 with 88,000 miles on it. Yesterday when I started it, the fast idle was fine but the normal idle was kind of rough. Not awful but up until yesterday it was so smooth I hardly knew the car was running. I scanned it for codes but got nothing. It just had the B service three months ago and the only recommendation was front suspensions bushings and air filters. I asked about spark plugs but the tech at the dealer said it wasn't due until 100,000 miles.

Any ideas?

Make sure the engine cover/air filter housing is firmly seated on the MAF sensor opening.

Funny you should mention that. The engine facade (shroud or whatever it's called) was removed last week because my Indy mechanic shop had to replace the valve cover gaskets. I'll check in the morning.

Thanks!

Rodney is only a great resource because he has done the same thing (more than once)! :)
