2004 S500 W220 Retractable Trunk Grip (RTG)

I have a 2004 S500 with Retractable Trunk Grip (RTG). I just recently replaced the latch due to a leak, but now the Retractable Trunk Grip (RTG) is responding in reverse - when the trunk is open, the Retractable Trunk Grip (RTG) does nothing, but when the trunk is closed, it pops right out. Can you assist me in correcting the issues causing the Retractable Trunk Grip (RTG) not to work correctly?

Thanks,

Yep, had that same problem just over a month ago on the 2006 S350 after replacing both the PSE pump and the handle. What I did was to reprogram the PSE pump with the features that I know the car to have. It cleared up in a couple of days.

Thank Cowboyt.
What did you use to reprogram the PSE pump? I got the Xentry/Das system for Mercedes Benz, and when I clicked on the PSE pump, it gave me a bunch of options. Which one to choose?

Thanks,

If memory serves...I think it was under "Control Unit Adaptations".

Cowboyt, you are right on the money!
I was able to change mine today in an instant! Thanks to the information from Cowboyt.
This is the process using Xentry/DAS/STAR:
1. Go to PSE >>>>Control Unit Adaptations >>>>Vehicle with dirt-free trunk handle: It will say NO >>>>>>> click on it and change to YES >>>>> Click on F2 and the system will do the rest.
Here are a few pics:
