Hi guys,

I have an issue with my high beams that I'm not sure about. If my engine is off I can use my high beams (inner most lamps, not the xenon) by pulling on the lever, but if the engine is running they never come on. Only the xenon works while the engine is running.

Is that normal behaviour or is there an issue that I should look at?

Thanks a lot and sorry if it's a stupid question, it's my first post.

It's not a stupid question. Did you have the truck scanned? Get it scanned and post the codes. That's as good a place as any to start. Good luck.

OBD scanner doesn't show any errors. Last time I was at the mechanic, I had him print me all the codes from the computer and there was some warnings for over and under voltage at terminal 30 but nothing relating to the headlights as far as I remember.

I just recently noticed this issue but I think it's been like that since I got the truck last March.

Your mechanic has a pro grade scanner or Star System that is picking up codes. Get them and post them. Seems like electrical issue but until you scan it you aren't sure. You are from Canada by your profile. There are some highway safety requirements that are not the same as in the states. Would suggest you read the owner's manual and see exactly how your headlights work. There may be nothing wrong it's again a function of your country of origin. Good luck.
