Hey guys,
Thinking about purchasing a 2004 E55. Selling my 2012 VW GLI and at 130k it had a ton of new parts thrown in so just wondering when the best time to buy an 04 E55, according to mileage, parts already replaces, new parts put in and mods, etc…
Thanks!

Given that it’s 15 years old, there will likely be a lot of things needing attention just due to age. Generally there’s not a lot specific (serious) on these that you need to watch out for. Once you get close to 100K you’ll want to address tranny fluid changes, serpentine belt and idler pulley, steering reservoir leak, oil leaks from VC gaskets and oil pressure port, ball joints, 16 spark plugs, possibly shocks,

Fairly basic things for sure, nothing to crazy that I can tell for sure.

That’s very subjective. An E55 with 175K miles that was maintained religiously is be a better deal than an E55 with 75K miles that had JiffyLube oil changes every 15K miles. The time to buy is when then right car comes along at the right price. Might in Wednesday at 10am :)
