Hey Guys,
I have been looking at a 2003 S600 with 86,000 miles on it. It is FULLY loaded with everything but dynamic seats and designo packages (it even has the rear seat package :) ). However looking at the carfax (CARFAX Vehicle History Report on WDBNG76J83A314860) and maintenance records, it has never had a single suspension issue which worries me. Does that mean it prolly won't fail or will very very soon? Also for $2,200 a warranty is included for an additional 100,000 miles or 5 years. It only covers transmission and engine issues and has a $100 deductible but is prolly worth it. What do you guys think? Is it a good buy at $19,500? Also, what am I looking at per year in terms of maintenance costs?

You already own 2004 S600 and you want input? Is there chance abc done after 50k warranty and NOT on carfax? As for warranty, if it includes abc then it's a no-brainer...get it before they change their mind - who's the underwriter?
Gd luck...yes, again, get warranty or skip car.

ABC is not covered under warranty. For this particular car, what would you assume yearly maintenance costs to be?

Don"t you have two of them 03 and 04 s600,
So you should tell us about the cost of maintenance,
Sorry but you do not make any sense,
Or just other ways cars in your profile are just a wish cars,

You are absolutely correct, I do have those cars. However all have had abc issues so I am wondering what this one would cost me.

Lets clear this up. I would like another S600, this one has options that my other two don't. I am concerned about the fact that it has not had any ABC issues which is odd, considering my others have had some serious issues that have costed thousands. The flooded S600 was going to be a project car because it was free and I was interested, needless to say it died. I want this S600, the ABC issues or lack thereof worries me and I was seeking advice on the issue. Is it weird that it hasn't had any issues? Is this just a prelude to what will come? I assume that since nothing has been changed in this car, more would have to be replaced and the costs to replace all of that ABC components would be a lot more than what my other 600's cost and I was wondering if anyone could approximate. I apologize for the confusion.

Look the car is an excellent deal. I think in reality you should own about about 7 s600's. Make sure they all have over 100k miles though, that way you know what your getting into. The best bet is to ask for a warranty up to 400k miles so there isnt anything to worry about. Another good idea would be to get 99s, those were the best years. I would recomend removing the turbos and airmatic air ride, replace the turbos with cold air intakes and the airmatic with skunk 2 coilovers. Make sure the title is salvage that way you get that whip for the cheap. Dont use carfax, its for the weak, just test drive the car, redline it in park for 5 minutes and if it blows up, its wasnt for you. good luck brother

I like how one of the member wrote about s600
"Think of it as dating a stripper. She's hot and freaky. Looks nice. and everyone wants to get some of that. But once you take her out on a date or home to meet the parents you will unveil a list of issues that will cause you nothing but stress and money. After you get treated for the inevitable chlamydia, you may find some underlying Herpes which won't show for about 2-3 months. Oh and I hope you like visiting her in rehab. So when you're out a dinner with her, you look like a star but inside you're burning up, literally. In between liberal applications of ointment and visits from your local police , you'll be kicking yourself."
