Folks,

is it possible to hookup a mp3 player or anything that has a lineout jack to the stock radio of a c320 ? I currently use a line-out to a cassette then stick it in the deck but its ugly as hell. its there wiring on the radio that would allow a direct connection from the player ? and maybe choose CD as an input to get sound ?. another option of course is to plug in a fm transmitter then tune the radio as a source...but these dont work well...

thx in advance

There is a hardware hack that can be done to the cassette player that will give you an AUX input. The player will no longer play cassettes, however.

That casette player hack scares me. I would just use a cassette adapter, but you really can't do it with the crazy way the cassette player is behind the display door on that particular radio. I would remove the cover of the radio, insert the cassette adapter and run the wire out the rear of the radio and down into the ashtray area for a sat. radio receiver or Mp3 player. What someone needs to invent is a cassette adapter w/ a tiny RF modulator built-in! The spinning of the cassette player's mechanism could turn a tiny generator in the cassette to power it! Is that crazy or what? :D
