Hi everyone,

I am the 3rd owner of this beautiful car and I don't know how to connect my cell phone or if the car has anything installed to be able to connect my phone. It has the two phone symbols on the steering wheel, the phone button on the radio and the plug in the center console. It doesn't have the comand, only the radio.
For the last few weeks I have been reading the forum, but I am still lost. Sorry:eek:
I also posted my question on the AMG forum. I didn't get any reply yet:(
I am in Calgary, Canada.
Please adive.
Thank you,

Cammy

If you have the connector in the console you should be able to add a Bluetooth puck that can talk to your phone. If you scroll through the menus on the dash screen via the buttons to the left on the steering wheel do you see a "Phone not present" type message? If you have the hardware installed (i.e. connector present) and version coding (i.e. the "Phone not present" message) then all you need is either an old phone that fits a cradle (not likely) or a BT puck. BT pucks are available on eBay, either the old silver or the newer black one works.

I have a different car but this might help...Before I retrofitted the wiring I got the message "function not available" when I pressed the steering buttons.
After fitting the phone I get "no phone " message until I plugged in the blue tooth puck.
So at a guess I'd say you have the wiring and just need a puck.
If you PM me your VIN I should be able to tell you.

It doesn't mention a phone, I know it would for a UK car but it could be different where you are.
Here's your details minus the VIN, and a picture of my UHI and blue tooth puck, not sure if it's got a different name than UHI where you are but it should look the same.
As I said if it's saying "no phone", then going off mine you should be OK.

I contacted the dealer and he offered to do the diagnosis assistence free of charge, so I did go. But the news was not that good. The car has not the phone system installed.
The configuration of D2B components shows that components 3 to 7 are vacant. It would cost about $3000 to have the phone system installed at the dealer.
The other option would be to buy the Argos Bluethooth, about $700.

Thank you for the reply Skylaw. For the last 3 weeks I am reading the audio and AMG forum and finally it started to get a little more clear ( I was not familiar with all of the technical terms). I read your post, I even printed it out.Very helpfull. I like this forum, everybody is nice and doing their best to help. I hope to get my phone working one day.
