No frog heart beating in my purge valve and I cleaned it inside with the MAF cleaner, let it evaporate for 5 minutes and the frog heart came to life.

No check engine or code now and you can hear the partial vacuum when the gas cap is opened.

Later w/ thread submission: Ohlord said one cause could be a skicky purge valve. The valve noticeable vibrates when it is working properly. Mine wasn't vibrating. Ohlord's cleaning the valve with MAF cleaner worked on my SL.
