Hey Guys,

I currently own a S430 year 2002, and i recently experienced 3 malfunctions in the car. First one is BAS-Break Assist, Sencond is ESP, and the Third is ABS. I was told by MB Dealer that it needs a new EIS switch( Ignition switch). I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and if so was it a result of the EIS Switch? Also, to be able to turn the key in the ignition, i have to push the unlock button on the key. Is this also a related problem to the EIS switch, or is it a security feature???

Answers to these questions and more would greatly be aprcieated.

Thanks Guys!

Welcome to BenzWorld! You have a W220. You are much more likely to get the attention of other W220 owners if you post this on that model-specific forum. Good Luck!

I cannot see the connection between EIS and BAS/ESP/ABS.

How does your other key work in the ignition slot? Sounds like pressing the unlock button helps an internal part gaining contact, perhaps the coil is loose.
