Is my offset big enough? I can buy an entire set for 400 bucks that used to reside on a CLK 430... is it worth it... can my car handle it?

DubVBenz,

You'll need to provide the rim dimensions for us to advise on how to best fit them to a W126.

If I remember correctly, the CLK 430 came with 17"x7.5" rims with an offset (ET) of 35. However, there were several AMG rims available for the car, some staggered (wider in the back than the front).

The standard rims will fit easily with a 20 mm spacer. Use the bolt-on type (bolt the spacer to the hub then bolt the wheel to the spacer).

Some of the AMG rims will be more problematic to fit. I think they increased the offset on the wider rims.

Let us know what the rim dimesions are and I'll provide a more specific answer.
