Hello,
I am considering purchase of C220 CDI 2001,
the current owner said that the transmission is "stuck" when cold and
shifting is taking long.
when driving the car when engine is hot all run smooth.

does anyone know this problem?

Thx

Be careful with this one. I have a C220CDI 2001 and you will have to be able to understand the reason for this happening to consider buying the car.

Those symptoms can relate to a number of fault areas including, transmission, engine, electronics, fuel/induction system. some of the problems are easy to resolve and inexpensive to rectify but others will cost more than the true value of the car to fix if you are unable to do it yourself.

Due to the age of the car the software for this vehicle is available to any reputable garage and most will have this now. The fault may show from a computer plug in and it normally takes less than 10 minutes to complete. There is no need to take the car to
Mercedes and this check costs around £25 in the uk at most independent garages.

I would suggest unless the seller can give you the exact cause for the problem that you do not buy the car.
