My neighbor has a 2001 c200 with around 150k miles . Its been sitting for about a year or so. His wife used 2 drive it. But the tranny won't shift out of first. I drove the car it runs well , but as i said it won't shift out of first. Shop told him 3k to fix tranny. He doesn't want to pay that much. So i asked if he wants 2 sell. Fyi that was a year ago , and he still asks if i still want 2 buy. He got the car from his brother n law. The car is quite clean and straight.
Lets get 2 the nut ✂ cuttin . With the transmission issues. What do you think its worth. I have a 2001 clk 430 already so I'm kinda familiar with the old skool benz. Im sure u guys might want pics. So ill try my best 2 get some today or in a couple days. Oh he said he has never changed tranny fluid. Its silver in color. Black interior.. as i said no dents seats not mangled. Ac works. Until i get pics, what do u think i should offer.

This is the w202 - chassis model ended in 2000.

Tranny issues can be a variety of things. And a deal breaker. What did the shop say was the issue? If they charge $3000 you might probably be able to do it for half that by yourself. These cars are not worth much. Look at what good cars like these are selling for in your area. I would say offer $500 to take it off his hands and gamble. Worst case, you may be able to resell it for that or more. Or part it out for far more. Personally I won't touch a MB with tranny issues unless it is dirt cheap.
