I am looking to cosmetically enhance this car, but not ruin the ride as I drive 25,000 miles a year, 80% at highway speeds. 17' wheels are not sharp enough, according to my 14 year old son, so he wants to put 18' x 8' wheels with 225/40-18 tires on this car and lower it about 2'. Any recommendation/preferences on which springs to do this (Eibach, Carlsson, Lorinser) that still have a good ride. Anything I should be aware of, like bump stops have to be modified, etc.? The local Lorinser shop (CEC in L.A.) wants about $1,000 for the springs, installation and alignment!!! On the wheels, what offset will I need so that I have no inside or outside clearance problems? When the wheel manufacturer states the offset (35, 40, 42), does this number mean the same thing, regardless of manufacturer? <br>
