Hello, need some advice! I just bought 2000 s500 3 weeks ago and it has ran great. Few days ago it wouldn't start in morning for a couple of tries. This morning a cold front came in to s fla and car hasn't started all morning. No real sounds happen when trying to start but lights radio etc come on fine? No clicking etc. Pls help. I can change any part myself but just looking for a direction to go in. I've read other posts anything from cps to fuse to starter?
Thanks

Yes nothing happens but lights radio work fine I meant no dead battery sound when that clicking noise happens. Also I need a tune up etc if anyone knows good honest mechanic in s west fla.
Thanks

Thanks, I will because new battery did not solve problem. 3 hrs later it wouldn't start, then 20 tries later and it started, so something is still off. Any more ideas would be appreciated very much. Thank you I'm thinking eis? Or relay? Has funny connection?

The W220 S-Class Encyclopedia sticky at the top of the W220 forum discusses several problems with failure to start and also with stalling when warm.

I've had my s500 in and out of shop for week and they finally diagnosed as the eis. However they went positive and since it was not at mb dealership they can't fix theft/security related issues anymore. So I scheduled app at mb dealer for mon. Last night my dad who is wicked smart grew up taking cars apart and putting them back togother and has been financial advisor for 30 yrs met with me and he had a starter relay so we put that in and nothing for 5 minutes, he noticed that the closest to rear of car relay was making alot of clicking noises so he switched with other black relay box and walla! It has started every time since even in morning at 6 am. It's only been a day but maybe this can help someone and hopefully mine continues to start. It's funny that a high end shop couldn't spot that but my dad fixed it in the dark in his thousand dollar suit in fifteen minutes. These mechanics now days rely too much on those diagnostics and have no common sense!
I posted this in another thread but just wanted to follow up!

I don't have part number rt now I'll get it for you tonight when I get off work but it's in your fuse box under the hood. It should be on passenger side. There little black boxes that plug in. One of mine was green and I think that was the 050 relay. Have someone try to start the car while you listen for any clicking etc. The black relay located closest to the rear of the car was clicking fairly loud so my dad switched it out for one of the other black relays. I hope this helps u I know how frustrating it is. I'll get those part numbers later for u.
