Yeah ORC is great for rally but I don't think that is what we are looking for. Look how skinney those tires are...

You can get 2" taller without much, adjust torsion bar, spacers and tyres, and you are all set. You don't need more than that, trust me, been there, done that.

Hi there,

Are you able elaborate on this quickly for me? Is this 2" from simply cranking the torsion bars? Or using longer shocks etc?

Thanks mate!
(My first ever post!)
You can tighten the tortion bars in the front and add fender washers at the bottom of the rear shocks. 3/8" of washers will get you about 1 1/4" lift in the rear.

I did that last week with those two mechanics. They put that serial number like a joke. I'll show you some pictures with measuring, but is in centimeters here in europe. Divide what you see with 2.54 and you'll get inches.
All the work (12 hours) and manufacturing cost me like 150 U.S. dollars.
They adjusted the front torsion bar to equal the rear. The spacers in the rear are 3 cm= 1.2".
So i have 30cm=12" clearance in rear, 25cm=10" in front.
I wait to change the tires too, gain 1" more.

Very good truck off-road. My car has only 80.000km, that's about 50.000miles.
Yes, from distance it will look like an ordinary ML, but when you get closer the difference will be huge. It is very high to get in the car already, after new tires mounted will be climbing-hard.

P.S. I am sory for my english writing, please excuse me. Speaking is easier...I hope I made myself understood

ML looks great!!

What material did you use to make the spacers? It looks like aluminum but what was the diameter of the blank you use? Thanks.
No, it is not aluminium, it is solid steel. I didn't measured the finished spacer but you have to get a blank about 5" x 5" to start with. Thickness is your choice (I made it 1.2" thick, wich I think is maximum to put ).
The man who did it copyed the shape directly from that metal piece on top of the shock absorber (after we took it off the truck).
I hope you understand my english...if you need more information just shoot..:D

We pretty much explained all you can do without major mods to your chassis for lift. I am actually dropping the truck back down because I'm getting married and the wifey has two kids...need a more comfortable ride. Also might have something to do with cracking a spring while offroading...

Since you will drop your truck back down, any chance you could post (or send me) the measurements (or a drawing) for the spacers? I may have an opportunity to have somebody make these for me; just need the info to pass along. Its time for me to take this truck off road... Thank you in advance.

No lift, but the tires make it look pretty sweet. I got 2 inches this way. She does pretty well off road, she keeps up with the Rover sometimes too.
