So my wife, for reasons I am unsure of, randomly pulled a few fuses. Since then, the windows will not roll down and the power mirrors will not adjust.

I've obviously checked the fuses, but they were never blown. I swapped them out anyway and there's still nothing. The buttons for the windows light up when I turn the headlights on, but I'm not sure that is a definite indication that the console itself is working. The buttons in the rear on the door also do not work, but I would think that it is likely in a series where if the front buttons do not work then none would.

I've looked at other threads and they suggested replacing that entire console. I figured out how to get it out, and that's easy, but there are none of this model in any salvage yards near where I live or work.

Would you agree that replacing that console (the one with the buttons for the windows) would be a good place to go? And if so, do you have any idea what that part is called so that I may try to find and order it online?

It's starting to get in the 90f temps here, and my AC also does not work.

I definitely would not replace the whole console. Verify, then replace. In other words, your going to have to get a test light of some sort and start tracing your power back to the switch. It would help if you had a wire diagram, which I do not have access to. I am not sure if these cars get window motor power straight from the switch, or if it is sent from a body control module, but a wiring diagram will help you determine where the power is coming from, then its just a matter of figuring out where it fails to send power at.

I can follow instructions and figure some stuff out, but I'm not really a mechanic. I only started having to fix my car when we had a child and I can no longer afford to take it to a professional. I'm not sure what a "test light" is or how to trace power back to a switch in any way. If it's not the console, and it's not the fuse, then it's likely that I will not be able to repair this. I have no confidence in my ability to start ripping wires out of the dashboard or door and try to figure out if they have power.

Slow down, take a deep breath...you can do this.

Test light is a simple cheap tool available at any auto parts store. I'm enclosing a pic of one. You clamp the alligator clip to a ground (can be metal anywhere on the car) and use the sharp pen like end to either probe wires or better the bare metal terminals... if it has power, the lightbulb will illuminate.

Now, if everything worked properly before, you simply have a situation where power is not getting to the switches/motors etc.. there is a secondary fuse block in the trunk I believe next to the battery. (I am not 100% on this as I have a 95 model). I would also look for relays that are for the windows, courteously, etc...

You can check the fuses while still in the block by probing the tiny metal tabs exposed on their tops.

Obviously something prompted the removal of the fuses, any ideas why? It is very rare for every switch in the circuit to go bad, this sounds like a distribution issue and will take some investigation... electrical issues are the most frustrating to diagnose, but typically easy to fix.

Rare moment when the car is actually home...snapped a pic of the trunk fuse panel.

This is on a 1995 c220. Fuse number 7 and 8 control window lift with a huge 30 amp fuse. Check those first, as being a second fuse block under the trunk carpeting it would be easy to miss.

Oh, I have a multimeter lying about somewhere. If it's as simple as poking that into the wire harness at the console, I can do that.

I checked the fuse map in the engine compartment and it referred me to the trunk. I verified that all the fuses are correct and replaced that "relay fuse" as well just to be certain.

As to why she pulled fuses, she had locked the keys in the trunk and thought that if she pulled the fuse to the trunk that it would let her open it. When that didn't work she started pulling other fuses out of frustration. I have replaced the fuses and verified that they are the correct ones.
