My recomendations is to go with one shade all around (no darker than 35% if you don't like hassles from CA cops).

2-tone tint (various shades) is best for taxis, limos, airport shuttles and SUV's. Sport sedans looks best with all 5 windows at same tint, more like a concept car or show car.

Thanks MB-SV for your input. I see your value point on the all one shade tint vs 2 shades. Thanks.:)

We have a 2010 C300 with 20% all the way around and love it. Techincally in Texas 30% is legal on the front drivers and passengers window but they don't bother you with it since it is so hot down here and your not doing something stupid. Without it when the outside temp is 118 then inside is pushing 190 +! Dark tint, remote start, and automatic windows are the ONLY way to go. All our vehicles have 20%. I also agree that the tint should all be the same, I don't care for a car that has lighter front windows but that is just my opinion.

Just curious how much (average) it would cost to tint the two rear passenger side windows?? Can someone please give me some ideas? Currently we are using the $5 Jeep Cling Sunshade which is not a bad solution either. :)

^$90-$100 for 2 side rear windows. Might as well get rear window done also for another $75 for protection of rear seat passengers and better look.

In socal, it's about $120-130 for standard 7 windows (2 fronts roll downs, 2 rears roll downs, 2 rear small static, 1 rear.
Wow for 7 windows, that's a really good price. By the way does it matter about what type of materials (film) they use to get it tinted?? If you use some of the cheap materials would it get peeled off later?? Thanks!

Just got the wagon's seven rear windows done, but I'm now finding it is an abrupt transition to the standard windows on the front. I'm thus trying to determine whether or not to leave as-is, or add 50% on the fronts. I had thought I'd seen R350 wagons, G550 trucks and some W210s with limo on rears and maybe 35% on the fronts, now I'm not so sure. Has anyone noticed them either way, or can any of you comment otherwise?

Note in my Canadian province, window tint is forbidden on the front, but 50% is "apparently" not a problem. FYI, total cost was ~$300, expertly done by a professional with 20 years experience.

I just finished ripping all the tint off my S class a week ago. Previous owner got one of those nasty $100 dollar jobs. I'm already blind enough, don't know why anyone would want the windows darker

The windows are already treated against UV which protects the interior against damage (and helps keep it cooler). Unless you spend a good chunk of change on ceramic tint like HuperOptik, it won't help keep the car any cooler. Wish it did though; here in Arizona, it gets up to 120F in the summer. Best way to cool the car down is use the summer feature, where you hold down the unlock button until all the windows go down
