I've just finished replacing the belt tensioner, tensioner shock and serpentine belt. Seriously doubt the saneness of the engineering thought about the tensioner - seriously complicated for no real reason.

Anyhoos, now that this is done I also need to change the fan clutch.

I cannot find a shade tree way to hold the pulley from rotating while I rotate the 8mm allen wrench.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

What about leaving the belt on to keep the pulley from rotating?

That suggestion didn't work as their was not enough tension from the belt on the pulley.

I finally git er done though after much angst.

Tune Ups

So for future searches, I was able to change my serpentine belt, tensioner, tensioner adjustment bolt, tensioner shock, fan clutch without removing the radiator which was one of my objectives.

Now onto solving why my aux fans are on from engine start even when dead cold.
