Well it has been done, I finally crammed two willing full-sized adults into the rear seat and my car didn't like the extra weight. I could feel movement in the driveshaft, it was tough to brake, and I even bottomed out the catalyst, but it has been done. So for your information an extra 600-700lbs is easily felt. The poor engine was mad and confused, but all felt fine once I got the crash test dummies out of the car. I guess the 6cyl is no match for 4 full sized americans!

Any of you guys ever cram 4 adults into an slc? How did it feel?

It felt ok in my 380LC with a European 500SL engine installed.
The tall guy in the back seat did not really like a long trip....

It seemed OK in the 450. Not that my passengers weighed over 200lbs. each...

I'm measuring in just over 6 feet tall with a 36" inseam.. Seat has to be all the way back to drive. No way at all I can get an adult in the back seat, unless they are a double amputee....

Well I had two adults and 2 kids in the back of my SL with a kinder seat. Does that count. The 560 didn't even know they were there.

I've had 5 (3 in the back) adults in my 280SLC a few times - definitely feels it on acceleration, but apart from that it is OK. The centre passenger in the back always has to be the contortionist or ballet dancer though....

I had only one passage in the back of my 450 with no problem. The guy was behind the passage seat, behind a small guy. So there was a lots of leg room for him and all went well.

I think the acceleration was a little sorry, but it wasn't too bad once I got the thing moving.

Good to hear from some other wannabee car poolers!
