Has anybody removed & replaced your four diesel glow plugs? If so, which plugs did you use? $? How long did it take? Lastly, did they come out intact or did they brake?

My local Dealer wants $1,000 for the four ($250 ea) and estimated labor of $600.

Thanks,

Poor choice of dealers.
My favorite dealer sells GP for $75 a piece and has cheaper available as well. Genuine Glow Plug for 2007-2020 Mercedes-Benz | OEM Part# 001-159-66-01 | MB Direct Parts
Did not touch my 250, but the same GP goes onto OM642 engines and I did those.
Few years ago, so don't remember all the details, but I did not want to spend time searching for recommended torque, so I used my power driver with adjustable clutch.
I adjusted driver torque till it start removing the plugs, then adjusted it 2 clicks down for installation.
Beside gaining access, what on V6 engine is big job, the 6 GP were in & out in about 10 minutes.
I wash my engines regularly, so did not have to worry about debris falling into the hole.
